Gemara
|
|
|
|
Middle School Gemara is a skills-based curriculum that focuses on vocabulary
development, recognizing the different Talmudic debate structures and
comprehending Jewish law. To master these skills, students will be
encouraged to persevere in their study of Gemara. Students will learn
to utilize varied resources to assist in vocabulary development as English
translations of basic texts are discouraged in the classroom.
Sixth grade students will continue their study of Mishna from 5th
grade and will be introduced to the skills necessary for Gemara study using
the Revadim method developed by Rabbi Pinchas Heyman of Bonayich Educational
Research.

Revadim method teaches students to identify the different personalities and
layers of Talmudic discourse through linguistic and historical cues.
-
Program will help students organize and structure the information learned
from the Gemara.

Students will progress to Gemara study, learning the fourth chapter,

Tefilat Hashachar, of the tractate Berachot

Study of Ivrit is done through the Neta Program. We will cove the following
